The president of the Republic of Sequoyah (Sequoyan: ᎤᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᎠᏰᎵᎤᏙᏢ ᏍᏏᏉᏯ)[lower-alpha 1] is the head of state and head of government of the Republic of Sequoyah as well as the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic Sequoyah.
History[edit]
First republic[edit]
When Sequoyan republican forces overthrew Sequoyan emperor Utliyuli II in 1876, Brigadier General Ahuli Kanuna proclaimed himself as the dictator of Sequoyah to lead the country while the provisional republican government drafted a constitution. The government held presidential and legislative elections. Kanuna ran for the government's executive office unopposed, and on 20 April 1876, he was inaugurated as the first president of Sequoyah.

Succession[edit]
The constitution of Sequoyah outlines the order of succession to the presidency. The order of succession includes the vice president, the speaker of the Senate, the speaker of the People's Assembly, the country's twelve cabinet ministers, and the chiefs of staff of the armed forces. The following is the order of succession:
Removal[edit]
The constitution of Sequoyah permits for the legislative and judicial branches to remove a president from office. First, the People's Assembly must vote with a three-fifths majority to impeach the president and present charges to the Senate for the review. The Senate would then review the charges and evidence presented against the president by the People's Assembly and vote with a two-thirds majority to suspend the president's powers and duties; in this case, the next individual in the line of succession would become acting president. After the Senate suspends the president's powers and duties, the Supreme Court would review all People's Assembly and Senate proceedings against the president and vote with a simple majority whether to affirm the president's removal from office or to reject the charges and restore the president's powers and duties.
Residence[edit]
The Presidential Palace serves as the official residence of the president of Sequoyah while in office.
