Prime Minister after election

Alfonso Vega Durán
Catholic Royalist

A general election was held in Creeperopolis on 5 January 1901 where voters elected all 350 members of the National Parliament of Creeperopolis (commonly referred to in Creeperopolis as the Second Parliament).

Prior to the election, the Creeperian government was unable to pay the wages of the Creeperian Armed Forces' officers due to economic struggles, and in late September 1900, the government temporarily cut the officers' wages for 3 months. On 16 October 1900, General Néstor Payés Ureña led a coup d'état against Prime Minister Inhué Ordóñez Yepes and declared that a snap election would be held to determine a new government.

The Creeperian Front won a majority of the seats and Alfonso Vega Durán of the Catholic Royalist Party became prime minister. The Popular Front accused Payés Ureña of rigging the election in favor of the Catholic Royalist Party as the party promised to not cut the officers' wages.
