The Ostlandet Union (OU) is a continental union consisting of fifteen member states located on the continent of Ostlandet. The OU was created by the Gjorka City Declaration at the 2022 Gjorka City summit on the 23 June 2022. The OU primary purpose is to serve as a forum for the nations of Ostlandet to cooperate, and in almost areas of the Union participation is optional. The OU is mainly run by the Council of Ostlandet whom serve as the governing body of the Union. The President of the Ostlandet Union is a ceremonial role awarded to one of the heads of state of the Union every year whose job it is to promote the Union to the world.
The largest city in the OU is Gardena home to 18 million of the Union's 866 million people. There are 13 official languages of the Ostlandet Union corresponding to the official languages of the union's members. These languages are: Baltanese, Cantuath, Giriskonese, Gjorkan, Kernevic, Monsilvan, Rakhi, Rawian, Sarvakh, Storosnovian, Tranquanese, Uulgadzan and Slavic
Overview
The OU was established under 5 main objectives:
- To achieve greater unity, cohesion and solidarity between the nations of Ostlandet.
- To accelerate the economic integration and inter-development of the continent.
- To promote and defend Ostlandet common positions on issues of interest to the continent and its peoples.
- To encourage international cooperation.
- To promote peace, security, and stability on the continent.
The OU serves as a forum for the nations of Ostlandet to communicate and cooperate with each other. The actual Union itself has little power, but can be empowered by it's member nations if they so choose. Thus participation in many areas of the Union is optional. For example, Gjorka does not participate within the Ostlandet Labour & Safety Organization thus the body has no power within Gjorka.

The Government of the Ostlandet Union has a number of offical bodies:
- President of the Ostlandet Union
- The President of the Ostlandet Union serves as the ceremonial Head of State for the Union. The President is one of the six leaders of the member countries and is elected by their fellow leaders at the annual Ostlandet Summit.The Presidency is mostly ceremonial as their purpose is to promote the Union and it's interests to the world.
- Council of Ostlandet
- The Council of Ostlandet serves as one of the two legislative bodies of the Union, representing the interests of the Governments of the OU. It is composed of 36 members, 2 from every nation in the Union and 6 independent representatives agreed upon by all members of the Union. The Council co-manages the various bodies of the Union delegating funding, and having the power to create or destroy bodies. The Council itself is headed by the Speaker of the Council of Ostlandet whom is one of the Heads of Government for the Union.
- Ostlandet Parliament
- The Ostlandet Parliament serves as the second legislative body of the Union, representing the interests of the people of the OU. It is currently composed of 928 members, but can be expanded to include as many as 1000 members. Seats are delegated to members based on their population, but there is both a minimum and maximum number of seats (currently 8 and 128 respectively) that countries can have in order to ensure every country has a voice. Each member sent from the various countries of the OU must be elected by the people of that country, but the electoral system is left up to each individual member state. The parliament is not an original OU body and was created following the 2nd OU Summit.
- Ostlandet Council of Standardization (OCS)
- The OCS is a branch of the Ostlandet that generally serves to procedurally and economically standardize the continent. Most notably is that the member nations execpt for Paleocacher, New Gandor and Reia agreed to standardize driving and boating licenses which the Council is facilitating.
- Ostlandet Aviation Administration (OAA)
- The OAA manages civil flight on the Continent for all member countries and creates universal naming rules and procedures.
- Ostlandert Grant Organization (OGO)
- The OGO serves to provide grants and funding to researchers throughout Ostlandet. As well, said research is shared by all members for them to use.
- Ostlandet Economic Council (OEC)
- The OEC advises members countries import and export policies and promotes trade within the union
- Ostlandet Counterterrorism Council (OCC)
- The OCC pools information from members in regards to terrorism and advises members on how to deal with terrorism. The OCC is the first branch of the OU Government created after the Gjorka City summit as it was created in response to the 2022 Ostlandet attacks.
- Ostlandet Union Space Agency (OUSA)
- The OUSA is the joint space program of the Ostlandet Union members.
- Ostlandet Safety & Labor Organization (OSLO)
- The OSLO serves to enforces worker standards within the union such as fair wage, and ensures the safety of workers and that companies are compliant with safety regulations. Unlike the aforementioned branches, not all member states participate in the Organization as Gjorka and New Gandor do not.
- Ostlandet Peacekeepers
- The Ostlandet Peacekeepers serve as international task force sponsored by the OU able to provide humanitarian aid whenever they are deployed. They are dispatched with the consent of the Council of Ostlandet, and their management is chosen by the six independent heads of the Council of Ostlandet.
- OU Task Force (OUTF)
- The Ostlandet Task Force is the joint command of OU member nations militaries. The OU Task Force is only operational when the Council of Ostlandet has chosen to intervene in a nation. The Task Force has been assembled twice. Its first operation was during the OU military intervention in Ajakanistan as the OU Task Force for Ajakanistan (OUTFA). Its second and latest operation was during the OU military intervention in Akvatika as the OU Task Force for Shaoyu (OUTFS).
Membership
All fourteen members of the Ostlandet Union are located on the continent of Ostlandet. New members can be admitted by a 2/3rds vote by the Council of Ostlandet. Additionally the OU has an observer-ship system as well, being called OU Partners. Partnership is reserved for countries with close cultural ties to Ostlandet and can be admitted with a 2/3rds vote. Partners do not receive the privilege of voting rights in either OU legislative body (but are entitled to nonvoting members).
