This article lists the political parties in Monsilva from 26 August 1830.
Political parties in Monsilva have existed since the establishment of democracy in the nation in 1830 after the Monsilvan Civil War. Originally, politics in the Kingdom of Monsilva was dominated by two parties, the People's Culture Party and the Parliamentary Party. The government alternated frequently between the two parties until the late 1910s, when the National Party began gaining popularity. The NP became the party in government at the September 1913 general election. The NP dominated the government for 40 years beyond that point, until the political discourse of after the death of the Qing Emperor. In 1953, the Parliamentary Party returned to government under the leadership of Liang Huiqing. In 1962, not long before the next general election, Liang was assassinated, and replaced by Shao Yaoting who initiated martial law which he abused to become an unopposed leader with support of the corrupt monarchy.
After the establishment of the Monsilvan Republic after the Monsilvan Revolution, the Reformed National Party came into power, with the Freedom and Democracy Party and the Liberal Party of Monsilva also managing to aquire seats in the Legislative Assembly at the first election under the republican system. Since then, the legislature has been mostly dominated by these three parties, with the RNP and FDP being the only ones to have led a government. Other parties such as the Green Party, Social Democratic Party, Innovate Monsilva, and the People's New Party have also got representation in the legislature and in government through the Democratic and Nationalist Coalitions.
