The Khermon War (5 April - 6 December 1961) was a military conflict between Pavulturilor and New Illyricum centered in the Khermon mountains. The conflict was the second war in South Ecros since the end of the South Ecros War in 1948 and signaled a renewal of aggression between Pavulturilor and New Illyricum. On 5 March 1959, Pavulturilori forces launched a missile strike on the New Illyrian city of Nyapthus, which escalated the conflict. The Pavulturilori government claimed the strike was an accident, however soon after they began military buildup on the border. The war began officially on 5 April 1961, however sporadic fighting had been going on throughout the region for over two years. The conflict itself was relatively small, with only a few small battles taking place with little to no territorial effect. On 6 December 1961, government officials signed the Nyapthus Agreement which reestablished the New Illyrian–Pavulturilori Border based on the September Agreement and forced Pavulturilor to recognize the New Illyrian annexation of The Eisley.
