Karimun Agency for International Development

From League Wiki

The Karimun Agency for International Development (K-AID) is a semi-governmental organization in Karimun, established in 1997 to oversee civilian foreign aid and development assistance. With an annual budget exceeding CQS 2 billion, K-AID accounts for more than half of Karimun's foreign assistance. The agency was created to streamline the nation's foreign development aid policy by consolidating previously fully separate programs, including the Pledge for International Cooperation Fund, the Agency for Progressive Development, and the Center for Humanity, into a unified framework.

K-AID's mission now encompasses disaster relief, poverty reduction, the empowerment of political and economic institutions, providing educational opportunities for researchers and students, and supporting infrastructure and economic development projects. Though it is formally overseen by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ombudsman, K-AID operates with considerable independence. Its funding comes from annual allocations in Karimun's national budget and contributions from the Federal Compact for Peace and Progress, which secures additional funds from state and local governments.

In addition to its foreign assistance efforts, K-AID supports several important initiatives, such as Conserving Democracy, the Bali Forum for Democracy, the Champion’s Excellence Scholarship Awards, and the Hatta-Natsir Fellowship Awards.
