The Bali Democracy Forum (BDF) is an annual gathering held in Bali, Karimun, bringing together representatives from Terraconservan nations to promote democracy, human rights, equality, and mutual respect. Initiated by Karimun in 2008, the forum serves as a platform for open dialogue on democratic governance. To ensure free expression during discussions, the Parliament of the Federation of Karimun and the Ministry of Internal Affairs have designated the BDF venue as a "protected Speaker’s Corner", where free speech and open-air public speaking, debates, and discussions are allowed. Enabling BDF participants to exchange experiences and insights based on their unique political and social contexts.
As of 2024, the BDF has convened 16 times, maintaining an unbroken annual tradition since its inception in 2008.
