Ampëz (Sometimes: Anpezo), is a city and the capital of Provinzia Ziller in Northern Tirol. Situated on the Boite river, in a Dolomite valley, it is a winter sport resort known for its skiing trails, scenery, accommodation, shops and après-ski scene.
Today, the local economy thrives on tourism, particularly during the winter season, when the population of the town typically increases from about 500,000 to 580,000.
